Our Festival

Geno Delafose

is a zydeco accordionist and singer. He is one of the younger generations of the genre who has created the sound known as the nouveau zydeco. His sound is deeply rooted in traditional Creole music with strong influences from Cajun music and also country and western. His father is the famous zydeco accordion player John Delafose.

Rosie Ledet & The Zydeco Playboys

Easily the queen of southwest Louisiana’s rootsy Creole zydeco scene, the 28-year-old singer/songwriter is a rare woman in a male-dominated genre. And her musical roots are tied to the blues. Her sound is built on hoarse, repeating squeezebox riffs, and the family band takes their punchy rhythms on the road for as many as six weeks at a stretch. In fact, Rosie says, they’re gone more than they’re home.
